The Vintage Sermon

Preacher:
Passage: Matthew 5:1
Service Type:

Bible Text: Matthew 5:1 | Preacher: Steve Schantz | Series: The Sermon on the Mount |
This week we begin a new sermon series centering around The sermon on the Mount. Jesus chose the location which became the sanctuary for the greatest sermon ever preached. Augustine offered the title “The Sermon on the Mount” to Matthew chapters 5-7 in the 4th century AD and it stuck. This mountain, really a large hill, had no name until Jesus preached there. For centuries the traditional site has also been called the Mount of Beatitudes. In this series we will journey to the heart of the character of God’s love expressed through the anointed King of the gospel.
